Confidential, compassionate, online psychological therapy

Step into a hopeful future on your own terms

Are you feeling frustrated, depleted, or overwhelmed at work or in your personal relationships?

Does something from the past continue to trouble you or affect your present well-being?

Are you ready to explore new possibilities and make changes, even if you're not entirely sure what those changes might look like yet?

YOU’RE IN THE RIGHT PLACE

It’s good to meet you

Welcome to my website. My name is Dr Emma Read and I am a Chartered Psychologist offering confidential talking therapy and EMDR online to adults across the UK.

People come to work with me with all kinds of difficulties, but I specialise in working with people who have had distressing past experiences of school or education, no matter how long ago.

I draw on a wealth of experience and training in my work as a therapist.  My approach is kind and compassionate, and I work slowly and gently in order that you have time to settle into therapy and tell your story in your own way.

About starting therapy

I am able to offer both talking therapy and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), a highly effective and evidence-based therapy for trauma, online to adults across the UK.  I work integratively, and draw on a range of psychological theories and therapeutic approaches according to your needs.

Sessions are weekly, each session is 50 minutes long, and my fee is £110 per session. For more information about the practical aspects of therapy please take a look at my FAQs.

It is very important that you feel comfortable with the therapist you have chosen, and so the first step towards us working together is for you to book a free online consultation for up to 30 minutes. During our meeting I’ll ask you some gentle questions about what brings you to therapy, and answer any questions you have so that you can decide if I’m the right therapist for you.

After you have contacted me I will be in touch within a week to arrange a time for us to meet using Zoom. I look forward to meeting you!

sometimes we do as we meant to.
The sun will sometimes melt a field of sorrow
that seemed hard frozen: may it happen for you.”
